If Hunter were my son, Officer Michael Davis would pay.

Instead we get the opposite, just a ton of reactionaries who oppose even the most modest reforms and its infuriating, being a cop isn’t even in the top 10 most dangerous jobs in the US

“Well, your honor - I told the suspect to freeze, and he brought out the anti-freeze! He was clearly resisting police commands”

The good thing about most body cams is that they actually record while turned off, which is why so many cops get caught planting drugs before turning the cameras back on.

I think the implication is that they wouldn’t be able to nickel and dime the payments made for each delivery and instead would need to balance the books at a later date. Implying they couldn’t have the same profit they expected and instead would have to bill people later to fix the issue. Hence they chose to go with

Their dealer agreement is much more prescriptive on customer experience in terms of policy and procedures, down to response time etc. When Toyota created the brand they decided to make sure it has a best dealer experience, and it worked. Other brands with legacy dealer networks can’t change their dealer agreements

Unless a dealer conducts illegal activity, due to franchise law protections there isn’t a lot an automaker can do to “force” a dealer not to be slimy.

I don’t think the typical tacoma buyer is any different than a f-150 buyer. They want a pickup because they like it, they think it’s cool, and it helps them with a hobby or something (DIY, camping, hunting, whatever) 5x to 7x per year. There’s some differences between the two models, of course, but I think a lot of it

There’s also this: just because someone has it worse (and healthcare workers almost certainly do) doesn’t mean you can’t take action for your own safety.

Garbage collection is already one of the most dangerous jobs in America. Aside from the risk of getting squashed by an impatient commuter, there’s always the chance that you’ll grab a can and come in contact with something truly horrific. It has the fifth highest rate of on-the-job fatalities of any profession, after

These people work by themselves and don’t ever get out of their garbage trucks for anything.

What value do dealers provide in this day and age?

You are thinking of an OBD2 scanner. OBD2 is a universal standard so you can buy a universal scanner for cheap.

I’d love to see the stats with and without young soldiers financing their cars.

They’re extremely dangerous to Porsche’s profit margin, yes.

As a literal Dodge salesman, I WISH we could get away with markups like this in my area, or really even markups at all, on anything.

Well if it sold for less than $1.2mil you’d have lost money on it. Take a $93,000 initial investment, add $1600/year in storage fees (not even counting insurance and any kind of maintenance you’d need to do to a car to keep it fresh for 30 years), and $1.2mil is your break even point vs. just investing the $93k @ 8%.
