Charles Laughton was a tremendous actor. I still believe his performance as the barrister in the 1957 film Witness for the Prosecution is one of the best not to win an Oscar (he was nominated, lost to Alec Guinness for The Bridge on the River Kwai).

I'm old enough to remember Bill Walton and all the foot problems he had. It took years off his career. We're seeing the same thing with Bynum and his knees. This is not unusual. When you have someone of his body type (7 foot, listed at 285) playing basketball with the stress and strain on his knees, this is bound

To be honest, I was thinking Rick Allen when I saw this pic.

Damn. Now I have to see it.

Great television show. Extremely underrated.

Since 1995, anyway.

I will see your R.E.M. and raise you Randy Newman. We Clevelanders tolerate this, because of Major League.

The song is awesome, but I swear I've heard it during NFL Films highlights.

I agree with you, DeadHead. There's a reason why LA hasn't had a team in almost 20 years. Most of it stems from their inability to build a stadium, but it seems that many Angelinos just don't care — they're happy going to the beach, playing golf, or skiing in the mountains come December.

Ohio still has two teams, the Cincinnati Blades (I think this was a hockey team) and the Cleveland River Flames (GAAAAAAAHH!)

Cleveland River Flames? Screw you, Aaron Gordon.

Great interviewer (I think the 9/11 broadcast, on the worst day this country has seen in my lifetime, was his high point), but Stern is nearly 60 and the fart jokes/midgets/porn stars act ran its course pre-satellite. Only difference: now he and the crew can swear with impunity.

Anderson Varejao is the oldest Cavalier, at 31, and I think he is the only player left from when the Cavaliers made the NBA Finals in '07.

Meh. Tilted Kilt has better food.

John Daly was athletic. At one time, anyway, before he became everybody's favorite alcoholic golfer. He twice placed in the national Punt, Pass, and Kick finals as a kid, wearing New Orleans Saints gear (he's a Saints fan from childhood).

BG plays Buffalo, day after Thanksgiving at Ralph Wilson Stadium. That one might be for the East division title.

Agreed. Kent State, Ball State, and Miami have been successful in the past. UB is putting its money where its mouth is, hiring Bobby Hurley to hopefully resurrect a Bulls program that was close several years back, but never quite got over the hump.

Buffalo is 6-2 and may be the best team in the MAC not named Northern Illinois. Khalil Mack could be a first round draft pick.

My high school nickname was Owl, because I was a know-it-all who wore big glasses. I hated that nickname at first, but when I discovered that the owl has no natural predators, I embraced it. Had to make lemons out of lemonade somehow.

Kittens and a puppy? I think we could use kittens and a (rather large) puppy.
