Never underestimate an english guy with a shed.

Tell me you didn’t read the article without telling me you didn’t read the article.

You really need to read the article.

All of that is mentioned in the article?

The clear & obvious benefit is that they make Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and their stakeholders filthy rich.  Didn’t you know corporations are people?  Why are you trying to oppress these corporations? =/

True, and I guess I wasn’t really thinking about the rights per se. But if you made a whole Thing out of this, then getting signoffs is less about having legal clearance and more about making sure nobody gets mad about it in the future. Like, there’s that bit with Finn and Jake; in its current state it doesn’t really

Well, there’s the fact that it’s 9,000 pound vehicle that is fast enough they had put in a software fix to keep it from doing a wheelie.  The mass kind of amplifies mistakes made due to ridiculous acceleration.

I can’t call a vehicle that uses 9k lbs of natural resources a win for the environment. This is better than an F350, but that’s like saying Pol Pot is better than Hitler. If this is where we are going with EV’s we haven’t learned a damned thing.

Not really. The EV Hummer can only tow 7500 pounds where my F350 can tow 12500. And my F350 is 2000 pounds lighter.

That was probably a touch too tongue in cheek for the internet.  But I didn’t mean that seriously.

I meant that as against other vehicles they’d consider. So, not a RAV4, or a smaller vehicle like an Ioniq. I’m thinking the target demographic for this vehicle is probably cross-shopping something like this:

A pedestrian (or a Miata) can be shorter than the hoodline of the Hummer EV. Thats… unlikely with a Corvette.

I agree that vehicles of this size and price point should never be subsidized.  Cube vans, straight trucks, highway tractors are bigger and harder to see out of.  Motorcycles for everyone it is.

Also, no sports car weighs 9,000 lbs. This thing will do a whole lot of damage if it hits anything.

(soon to be released Tesla Truck)“

I don’t hate it, and I’d much rather see one of these than a diesel F-350. But I’d really rather the huge battery this thing has be used to build three more sensible vehicles. Batteries are the big constraint in developing more affordable (and just plain more) EVs.

It’s the mass / weight. Vehicles are getting bigger and heavier and more dangerous to just about everyone else on the road (or next to it). That most of these will be used a grocery getters is atrocious for the amount of resources going into it.

We always called the breakers of rules “Fondon’ts”

You just have to fondue it right.
