I like how you think. But finding an old S-10, cutting the roof off, and stuffing in an LS would be a lot easier.

As they say when something incredibly stupid happens, alcohol was involved.
I am a boomer and I have no idea why anyone would want one of these.
The GMC Envoy XUV was based on the same platform and weighed 300lbs less than the SSR. This was a 4-door, 5-passenger SUV with a retractable roof over the hatch area. How the hell did GM take that and turn it into a smaller 2-seater and manage to ADD weight?
This is exactly how I feel about this particular “truck” and all SSRs. Personally I find them hideous to look at, useless, probably horrible to drive, but if you dig it this one is a NP. Godspeed.
Don’t agree with the poll options. I don’t hate it because it’s weird. I like weird. And I don’t hate it at all. Just think that’s too much money for a banged-up old VW that needs a lot of work. Starting with that interior, ugh. ND
NP for a well-preserved classic from the heyday of Japanese sport coupes. But damn, those seats. Need to carry a warning that they may induce epileptic fits.
Who thought it was a Shelby? Y’all are dumber than a box of coat hangers.
Don’t care for the blacked-out trim either, but that’s an easy fix. I’d also like to put on a proper chrome grille, bumpers and badges. Easy NP
1) It’s in Florida
If you’ve got all those skills why not just build your own car
Drive it in reverse really fast and it handles like a 911
$40K would buy a nice Elise or Boxster. ND
This seems like a lot of money for a tiny slow car with a body kit that’s ... ummm ... interesting. ND
Can you imagine this thing getting rear-ended by a Chevy Tahoe?
$5K and maybe it’s NP
If it all checks out this is a screaming bargain. Drive it around on weekends for a year or so, then sell it for double the money. NP
Hunter would’ve made a Viper his bitch
It’s a Honda, not a BMW. Couple of $700 payments a year should keep it on the road for a long time.
