A small minority of full size trucks get used for towing heavy loads anywhere close to the max. An even smaller minority (mostly people towing large camping trailers or fifth wheels) are used to tow for long distances.

There are tons of people who tow heavy things short distances: Local contractors towing Bobcats. People towing boats to the ocean/lake (I could reach the ocean and back or about 50 different lakes and back even with only 90 miles of range). It’s not misleading at all to say what the max towing capacity is. Gas trucks…

Perhaps we wouldn’t keep ranting (doesn’t feel like a rant) about range while towing if we weren’t being constantly told that this is an EV truck that does truck-like things!!

I think that was maybe a small part of it. But from my lense they thought they could use their national footprint to arbitrage buy/sell opps. Think buy sedans in area x and sell them for more in area y and buy SUV’s in area y and sell them for more in area x.
