It’s for idling emissions at stoplights, not strictly mpgs. Which is why every European car has it.

Most hybrids won’t be any better or worse to drive than their actual ICE equivalent. Your Prius might have been bad, but was it any better or worse than a Corolla Hatch? Do you know? Have you actually compared?

Buy a $60,000 EV to save $100/month in gas.

Thanks for the hack advice from the late nineties but maybe it’s folly to make such broad assumptions from one loaner car
