If the EV market truely wants to become green and sustainable, it really needs to move on from lithium and quick

From an article on the Lexus NX, “In our testing of an all-wheel-drive F Sport model, it performed a class-average 6.9-second zero-to-60-mph time.”

Betcha that Polestar is a MUCH nicer place to sit than a Bolt tho.

Not according to https://www.zeroto60times.com/vehicle-make/honda-0-60-mph-times/ But even if we accept your 6.8 figure, a .2 second difference at this level is trivial, and hardly “bested with ease”. (yes an accord with a civic type R engine is going to be a bit quicker than the average car).
Anyway, theres so many

Yeah that’s basically what my mom likes about it. It’s just a taller Fit, and it’s adequate for normal driving at a solid price.

Yea, to reiterate on my other comment, Polestar isn’t positioning itself as a value leader. The EV market is growing, you can’t just compare all EVs against each other as if being an EV is enough to warrant direct comparison. You don’t weigh the BMW 3 series vs a Honda Civic simply because they’re both gas powered

No, it won't limit you in normal driving,  especially compared to a gas car.  It's electric and all of that power/torque is instant.   Nobody in a Civic is merging into traffic at WOT in all gears.

7s is not slow for the average car; maybe one day it will be but the roads are full of 10-15 year old cars that are much slower and people make them work. Hell, did you even look up 0-60 times of the cars you’re talking about? Whats a base honda civic 0-60 time? I’ll save you the trouble, its 7.4s. A modern Accord

I’ll get Betty’s address so you can write her a letter and tell her why should have bought a Civic.

I’ll take the fewer door dings by fewer people having long ass coupe doors if it’s all the same to you

It’s the ride-height, not the number of doors. First time you stoop to get into a car and your knee says: NO!!! with a nasty twinge of pain, you’ll understand. The second time, you’ll think about getting a different car. Your day will come...it sucks ass, but it’ll come.

Agreed - we are spoilt in our belief that 7 sec is a mediocre 0-60 time.   I learned to drive on a mid 80s GM 2.8L that claimed a 0-60 of 14.1....and would only achieve that with a strong tailwind and a downhill trajectory.  I’ll take 7 seconds and lower cost/complexity @ sub $40k after incentives for a well packaged

You might be right! Im just saying 7 seconds 0-60 isnt like my 2001 Sentra or my 2008 Outback slow. Its fine! When i go EV its going to be a utilitarian choice, personally. Just want somethign hyper efficient at commuting, errands, and highway road trips.

They’re not talking about the width of the doors they’re talking about the height of the seat. As one ages getting up into a high truck or down into a low car is difficult. Vehicle’s where the height of entry allows for a sliding motion into a seat of the same approximate height as a chair is desirable.

My ‘05 4cyl Camry apparently can do 0-60 in 6.9 seconds, and I have ZERO issues with merging or passing. Your take on this is the best take. People need to learn how to drive better more than likely. hahaha

What if i were to tell you that ive driven over 500k successful miles with literally no car that could do a 7 second 0-60. The fastest car ive ever had is a 1992 Integra and my current fastest car in a straight line is a Xterra.

I agree with this. Our ioniq has like 40% fewer horses than my Volvo but similar torque, and it’ll launch across an intersection far quicker than my Volvo will. I’d bet between 0~35 this thing will actually be quick. Which I’m ok with. Because for me that means I can do amusing/spirited driving at speeds where it’s

Not going to deny that for you it maybe easier but I never had issues merging onto highways, from a side road, in much slower cars.

I think it will help the numbers for Polestar. Non car people that are disappointed in Tesla (or fed up wiht the current petrol prices) and are looking for range and don’t care about the acceleration (if you’re always in traffic) this helps.

I definitely don’t think it will feel slow for maneuvers such as merging and passing. We had a Kia Soul EV (the 64 kWh battery version that I don’t believe is sold in the US), which was a 7.5 second 0-60 car. The instant torque made it feel much faster, and mid-range acceleration also felt very strong. The only issue
