Earlier proof: Tesla Model S Concept (2009). It looks similar enough to the final model that some people still get confused between it and the production model.

I missed the part in science class where the Earth was static and never, ever supposed to change. I do remember, quite distinctly, that throughout its history the Earth has changed quite radically. Why anyone expects it to NOT change defies all logic.

Real interior will look like this:

The conventional front end styling is mostly in place because of crash tests, not requirements of the ICE engine. The above bumper grills haven’t been necessary on most vehicles for decades.

I myself was hoping to start an aftermarket vinyl face sticker business for Model 3 customers... you know, to fund my Model S. >:)

Jalop are like “electric car should not have grille it is useless and stupid”

Sadly, many of them are indeed pretty awful. I do not think that many of their practices should be allowed and I work for a major dealership network. There are entire sister industries built around dealerships to help educate, arm and embolden the customer.

These industries should not exist in the first place, but if

You can’t honestly believe that, right?

It should be ridiculously easy to rebrand as Seat.

Tucker built about 55 cars. Tesla has already sold about 100,000 cars.

He has already surpassed him.

There was an article in the Economist a bit back on these numbers and the confidence was closer 50%. This kind of data can be crunched and have a high degree of relevance, but the vast majority is just shoddy research or research that supports an investment position. Any place that doesn’t publish how it arrived at

By that logic, Cairn would have accounted for a max of ~50,000 preorders, but look how that turned out. Their research is speculative.

Let’s also not forget the amount of pre-orders Cairn predicted.

You could also do a 2-3 year lease on a chevy bolt while you wait for the model 3. I kinda think a decent percentage of bolt sales will only be for that reason lol. That would also flood the market with used EV when the lease is up making them even more affordable

In four years it will be time to switch my wife’s A3 tdi (assuming VW doesn’t buy it back for polluting) so this works out perfect for me. I put down my deposit, will be looking for delivery early 2020 please, don’t let me down! Down with diesel, up with electricity!

I have toured the factory - they are using only about 20% of this massive old GM facility - all new state of the art robotics. In the middle are a group of about 50 desks - right on the factory floor - including one for Musk. They are there to immediately see any problems in production and solve them - no layers of

I would also add that what makes Tesla different is that they make cars that are actually attractive. All of the other electric cars are hideous.

Also let’s not forget Styling as well, the other cars truly look like Odd-balls with their limited range.. Model 3 hands down our next car in the garage.

I am quite certain that electric cars will eventually supplant ICE ones, and I’m cool with that. I don’t know how long Tesla will be around, nor do I care. If they hadn’t gotten the ball rolling, somebody else eventually would have. Good on them for getting it going.
