I bet we’ll see a lot of them with nothing more than flat black on everything below the edge. Hell, you could do it with vinyl wrap for a few bucks.

It’d be a great spot for some rally lights

No, they don’t. And that, kids, is what you call progress

That’s the thing. We are used to grills but they have no purpose on an electric. I personally liked the X and this front-end.

Well, to be fair they want to get rid of a lot things.

I was happy to own it four weeks ago on that last rally. Got in at $151.

It’s missing something.

More likely that nothing’s been finalized so they don’t want to over-promise on things that won’t happen. The X was more complete when they revealed it, whereas this is a bit of an early look because people have been clamoring for the Model 3 for years now.

BOOM!!! Sign me up. Its kind of got a Ferrari FF vibe to the front. I do wish it had the faux grille but whatever, I can get over it. Now hopefully those electric car credits don’t go away soon.

Yeah but arguably, Tesla can learn form BMW’s past. It almost never matters what a company did yesterday, but what they are doing today and tomorrow and if they are doing it well.

$300-$1,500, depending on the specifics of the installation. The biggest variable seemed to be the distance to where the electrician could tap into a 22ov source.

So in case you didn’t know, expensive cars are sold less than cheap cars. The Model S sells well for its price.

A car that costs over twice what I can afford to spend for a car?

Correction: They want to FEEL like they’re saving a buck.

It’s refundable so it’s worth taking this risk.

They aren’t ordering it. The $1000 refundable deposit just secures you a spot in line. You don’t actually build/order the car until late 2017 at the earliest.

Not more or less bored than people camping for Star Wars tickets.

While I agree this is overall completely absurd, the thing that bothers me the least about their behavior is the tax credit. They didn’t make the rules and it’s a potentially great deal.

Tesla devotees are more crazy than Mustang/Camaro people, or truck brand faithful?

Unless there’s a tax difference related to number of doors that makes Mr. Ballaban indicate a $10,000 rebate for Tesla as opposed to the $7500 federal rebates being touted for Bolt, the price difference between the two is maybe $2000, and we have no idea yet of what the base packages on either will actually get you.
