Even though Mazda’s designs look good, they have a price. That tapered body makes the rear seats in almost every Mazda vehicle smaller than the competition. Most automakers are not willing to sacrifice the rear-seat space and cargo space for looks.

They said worst, not best!

They ended up selling around 10,000 over four years or something. At any rate, as much as other automakers want to complain about the US market being “closed,” it’s almost impossible to gain any traction in Japan if you’re not one of their domestic manufacturers. South Korea is very similar. Only the premium European

At least they had that sweet inline-6 for awhile.

This. This is the poster child for badge engineering.

I was about to comment the same thing. It was definitely to give those dealers a truck lineup. At least at the time when GMC and Chevy trucks were indistinguishable except for the badge.

Eventually Toyota will probably buy them up whole, but I’m not sure that would actually be a smart decision by Toyota.

Does anybody want a peanut?

Yeah, but only the time circuits work off of Mr. Fusion. The car always used gas.

More like a BMW i3 Rex.

Ford already filed a patent for such a device.

Yep, that’s the reason the MAX’s engines are so big and caused an aerodynamic shift. The engines themselves were creating additional lift ahead of the wing, not to mention the engine being entirely in front of the wing changed the weight distribution.

Boeing would be better off going with a clean-sheet design to replace the 737 at that point.

In terms of weight, it’s probably not as much gain as you think. First of all, the ~100kWh battery in a Tesla Model S weights about 1200 lbs. Since these are rumored to have 1MWh of battery capacity, we can assume the batteries come in around 12,000 lbs, give or take.

I know, right! The Internet just isn’t made for pics and videos.

There’s not enough sensors to remove to save enough money to buy Twitter!

No. Not even a spy photo of a vehicle covered in camo.

They’re already on sale in Europe. VW is just taking their sweet-ass time bringing them to market in the USA.

The Model S is big on the outside, but the interior is only so-so space-wise, because Tesla decided not to give anyone leg room.
