The fundamental flaw in the original argument doesn’t change by switching to diesel, only the numbers.

The laws pre-date widespread adoption of electric vehicles. They were intended to keep costs down for renters by preventing landlords from sub-metering their properties and charging a premium to the tenants.

The laws are outdated. If you look at the laws, they state that only the power company can meter electricity. They were primarily intended to prevent landlords from sub-metering electricity to tenants and charging a mark-up for the privilege.

They’re just itching to get these cases in front of the Supreme Court now. Even though the right to travel is enshrined in the Constitution, I wouldn’t put it above those six psychopaths on the Supreme Court to twist logic so that the 14th amendment is functionally neutered.

The Constitution is an agreement among people. They can also agree to let California secede if they want to.

Realistically they would only take the western parts of WA and OR, as the eastern sides of those states are fairly conservative.

I’m betting there would be more than enough red state votes to let them secede. LoL.

Like AT&T!

Complicated? Yes. But the national situation could get to a point where Californians overwhelmingly decide that the juice is worth the squeeze.

That’s one of the reasons I believe that California would try to secede before Texas does. Of all the states in the Union, California is in the best position to be its own country.

Then they’ll ban women from displaying any body part beyond their eyes, because that will just create “lust” in men.

While technically, yes, that’s the literal definition of an average, the number of $100,000+ vehicles is far outnumbered by the number of $40,000 vehicles.

Somebody’s not doing their fawking job!

Money can be exchanged for goods and services.

Mmmmm...Arby’s

¿por qué no los dos?

So, who’s going to replace all those Biden “I did that” stickers with some other kind of sticker somehow implying that a former President lowered gas prices?

Are we not doing “phrasing” anymore?
