We make SO MUCH stuff out of oil. Plastics. Roads. fabrics. Big oil will be fine.
He’s not senile. He’s just a man who has been able to say whatever crosses his mind for the last 50+ years with zero consequences. I’m sure he’s as sharp as he’s ever been. It’s debatable how sharp he ever was, but he’s still functioning at the same level as ever.
EVERYTHING is a side in the culture wars. Or rather, there’s absolutely nothing that attention-starved bullies won’t use as a pretext to start a fight. Wind turbines cause cancer. School kids don’t deserve free meals. The poor deserve it because they’re lazy. Drag queens are turning your kids gay.
I want this thing so much.
This is one where I think so many manufacturers need to look at the way honda did the Element.
How does it compare to an outback- gas mileage, are the rear seats comfortable for 100 miles or more, what’s the storage in the back with the seats down- how hard is it to get a bike in the back> how hard is it to get a dishwasher in the back? How does it handle a trip to IKEA where you and your girlfriend buy a new…
So, why isn’t gas mileage a thing one can be excited about? It’s no weirder than 0-60 times, and generally more useful on a long term purchase like a car.
So, you would have gone even slower, knowing that you would be responsible if you hit someone.
I can think of one simple change that will work on every vehicle.
Meh. Priuses are absolutely fine.
They look SO COOL. But add 500 pounds to a big car that’s only got 180 hp and bad things happen
Shine on, you crazy Australian bastards, Shine on.
Which is the case with literally any vehicle, with any transmission. Which is why maintenance is important.
If the CEO of Ford resigned in disgrace tomorrow, the company would just keep going for the 6 months to a year that it would take to find a replacement. They would be, if not perfectly fine, at least in decent shape for that period of time. I think CEOs are less critical than they think they are.
I think about all the anti-union propaganda I’ve heard over the years, all of the “wouldn’t you rather have your healthcare decided by your boss than by the government” arguments, the “some people want shitty healthcare” arguments, all of the “rich people are the only ones who should decide, and you too can be a rich…
If there’s no one to cook the food, or write the stories, or build the car, it kinda makes it hard to make a profit.
Remember: no one can possibly be better at negotiations for your raise than you, the individual employee- YOU are the master negotiator before whom all must bow, and whom the CEO fears most!
I drive an outback, so whatever it has. Also, that particular CVT in the video is a VAG product, so it’s already more complicated and fussy than it needs to be by half.
