Spo /is/ great, but I remember him getting annihilated in the press his first couple of seasons, and a lot of the same sentiment is behind the anti-Blatt backlash: how dare this guy with no NBA cred attempt to do his job and coach a legitimate superstar?
I concur. Blatt looks silly and has no NBA cred, so it’s just too easy to paint him as a buffoon. I don’t think the results on the court support that, though. He’s really in a no-win situation here, especially with the avalanche of articles asserting that Lebron is the real coach. He needs to get out of town and coach…
I laughed along with these stories during the regular season, but the playoffs gave me a newfound respect for David Blatt. I don’t think LeBron came up with the defensive schemes that helped slow the Warriors’ offense through the first three games of the series.
