I didn't end up buying the car. Not because of the "bonus" picture, but because it turned out the Subaru was in nearly as poor of condition as the woman in the bonus picture.

This isn't entirely on topic and I definitely could NOT post the picture here, but it's a good excuse to share the story. I wasn't looking for car parts, rather an entire car. At the time I was looking for a late '90s Impreza. I found an ad on Craigslist for one that had no pictures, so before heading to work that day…
I read your entire comment in the Regular Car Reviews voice and it worked perfectly.
Absolutely right. Very cool classic now, but a very useless truck then.
Sadly, that's part of what's wrong with our society today.
Since the guy was waving a knife in people's faces, it sounds like you did the right thing in that situation, although I can still understand why you would feel conflicted about the ordeal. I admire your outlook on dealing with difficult individuals.
It would be perfect if they made a prequel that focused on Michael and Trevor's previous lives as midwest stickup-artists!
I hope that scumbag suffers a pointless and agonizing death. How somebody thinks that attempting to murder somebody in front of their own children is a viable alternative to sucking it up and taking responsibility for their actions (or you know, just having car insurance in the first place) is beyond me. It's a…
I had an '08 six-speed Versa hatchback for a couple years to help establish my credit history. The six-speed made it reasonably engaging to drive, but the drive-by-wire throttle response was horrible. You are also correct about the horrible sixth gear, I've heard they may have set that up so the more expensive CVT…
The Armada isn't common enough for me to see any solid pattern, but being a land-barge SUV means that there are likely to be at least a few stereotypical drivers out there, in the reckless-asshole variety.
That's because you aren't a psychopath! Altimas tend to reject any sane person from getting behind the wheel.
Funny you mention that, I forgot to mention that the Altima (and to some extent the Maxima) also seem to attract those insufferable types of people. I tend to stereotype Altima drivers as the type to tailgate and weave around in traffic for no obvious reason, and I tend to stereotype Murano drivers as the type that…
In my observations on the road, I've found the Murano to be the car of choice for angry people with sociopathic tendencies. They buy it because the larger size and higher ride-height gives them an added sense of protection and superiority, and it has enough power for them to pull all sorts of dangerous driving…
There certainly are rigs that actually get used, but sadly most of them are sparkly-clean penis extensions / mall-run vehicles for the "wealthy redneck" stereotype, especially around here.
They're fantastic. I remember coming across a few 4-5 minute videos years ago (likely right here on Jalopnik) and every now and then I come across a new set of clips. They're really incredible to watch, just a totally different mentality in that era. It's also refreshing to see a time when spectators / bystanders were…
Thank you for sharing this, I didn't realize there was even more vintage Adenauer Forst content! These are so mesmerizing to watch, what an amazingly different time.
I've dealt with drivers like that in 24 Hours of LeMons races before. Terrible lines, terrible driving, but a powerful car so they rocket away / overtake you again on the straights before turning into a trainwreck in the corners. Absolutely dreadful.
Came into the comments to see this one. Leaving satisfied!
V8 Supercars is one of the many reasons that I see Australia as an alternate-universe America where everything is kind of similar, but much better.
Bennington is a lovely town, I always love to stop in there after carving up Route 9 across Vermont! Shame to hear they're having the same drug-related problems as my hometown.
