Oh I was replying to the wrong person there. Woops. I did like your second comment though, and even starred it, so I guess you might as well take it as if I was talking to you.
And I agree with you too. Just laughing at how overboard he went in saying this is “the problem with our society.”
Yes, this is THE problem with our society. Not heart disease, not income inequality, not racism, but this.
I’m so lost...
Why do people care about this though? Honest question. We all know what he or she means.
This is why I hate youtube.
I don’t think fighting against a word is the thing to do. It’s not a big deal to me but, you asked and I answered.
A lot of black people have been commenting on Pewd’s videos about not even being offended.
I’m going to make this very simple for you:
I never said there was ill will. I can’t peer into his mind, but imo I don’t think he is a bad guy or a racist. I have defended him many times. This is not really about him. It’s about excusing people who should know better. This is not a guy whose some country bumpkin who never left his hometown. This is a well…
My point is that he is not an idiot and he knows exactly what weight is placed on that word here, everyone does. Just the fact that you are talking about the relative weights placed on a word demonstrates that you in fact know what that word means to people here.
And none of us have grown up with the word with the negative connotations that you have in the US, well we’ve known it’s a bad word, but not the weight behind it.
People have the right to not use the word. And it’s likely not because they are afraid of bad words, but more because the use of this particular word is so ugly people might prefer not to write it.
Why are we not criticising other youtubers, especially the black ones who use the n bomb way more often than everyone else? Cause they are black?
but if we’re now deciding who can play a game on youtube based on their personal politics, shit’s gotten scary as hell.
All of that is besides the point, which is that racism is still a thing in Europe.
....well of course that goes without saying, that is a truism, but what does that have to do with anything? My point is that if you think black people have not suffered from prejudice in Europe you are mistaken. Europeans created slavery. There would be no such thing as racism towards Africans without that happening.…
Maybe she just doesn’t want to use it? Why assume she’s afraid. The much more rationale explanation is that she herself does not want to write it.
There is no continent in the world where black people have not suffered from prejudice my friend.
