Fewer testicles for better aerodynamics.

To be fair, I do get what you’re trying to say, but as a black guy (and former sports reporter) whose heard too many times about the accomplishments of black athletes being described as some sort of innate instinct (rather than practice and hard work), insinuating she’s “not human” brings back some unfortunate racial…
Rachel Maddow had a terrific segment on this just the other day.... She went through a timeline of all the continuing ways that Georgia has tried to block blacks & students & liberals in general from voting, from the 1960s onward. It’s not like they were forced to let everyone vote, then behaved until 2018; they’ve…
Head over to Red State and the other hard-right blogs, and you will find people saying exactly that. The justification is the usual Randian ideology about anyone needing government assistance (only brown people need it, of course) not having a right to any voice in what that government does.
Why don’t they just come out and say it?
Would not be surprised if a third full rotation made an appearance before Tokyo.
The other day I saw gravity at Barnes & Noble looking for a book on Simone Biles.
Sometimes people are just perfectly built for a sport; occasionally they are identified as such, early in life. Then some of them are incredibly dedicated at maximizing their abilities.
I love her so much. Thanks for providing that slow motion version, because I could not understand what I was seeing, lol.
Honestly, I’d tend to expect women to outperform the men on floor and vault. Upper body strength and height would seem like disadvantages on those events. More (unneccessary) mass to propel into the air, and higher moment of inertia for the rotations.
My daughter has been in gymnastics/ cheer/ power tumbling world for 10 years, and I still can’t always tell how many rotations and what skills are going on. Biles in slo mo looks like most gymnasts on a regular routine.
Even in slow motion she’s moving really, really fast.
If only we could harness the rotational energy in her vaults, the world’s energy problems would be solved.
Honestly her double double layout (and even her silivas) embarrasses 98% of men in MAG already.
I THINK I get what you’re trying to say but ... hmm.
The Oatmeal used to have a calculator for this very question about how many 6 year olds could you take in a fight. He later changed it to Justin Biebers for obvious reasons.
A lot of times when I see a person who’s much shorter than me, I think, “I wonder how many of that person I could take on in a fight and hold my own.” This is usually something I think about at my 6-year old’s soccer games.
That’s not necessarily true. The book is supposed to be about her life as a Mrs. Steven Hawking. It seems like screenwriters/director wanted to do a movie about Steven and thought it would be cheaper to get his ex’s memoir than to get Steven’s memoir(if he has one).
IIRC, Stephen was diagnosed before their marriage. Early on in their marriage, his family made it clear that his health was Jane’s problem and offered little if any support. As his condition worsened, Hawking wouldn’t allow sensible changes to how they lived such as having a bedroom on the main floor or hiring paid…
That sentence, as I read it, is just emphasizing the previously mentioned 30 years of marriage Hawking walked out on.
