I’ll admit, becoming a parent and seeing my son wiggling away in the first sonogram did complicate my feelings on the “it’s just tissue” argument. I absolutely believe that’s a little person in there.

I have never been a Taco Bell fan and probably only ate there a few times in my life. This week, my twins had brain surgery and at night this was the only thing left open for dinner in the hospital. I had it 5 times this week. So I have more than doubled the times I had Taco Bell.

I would also contend that Saving Private Ryan is not an anti-war movie. Its stance is more like: this is war. This is the ugly mess that it is. But to be against this means letting the Nazis take over.

Maybe I’m an outlier, then, because every time I think about popping in my “Saving Private Ryan” DVD for a re-watch, I change my mind half the time because of the D-Day sequence. It is utterly brutal.

I’m climbing onto my little soap box real fast to point out that “white trash” is racist. It implies that trash people are all non-white as a standard setting, and that the “whiteness” of this trash person makes their trashiness somehow unique and different than standard trash.
