@ProfessorSlowmobile: Actually, I think the R8 is a bit closer to the R-15 if you can overlook its gas powerplant.

This Veyron = world's most expensive camera chase car?

Ozzy Osbourne approves.

@luisthebeast: Put that on wikipedia! This is the closest I could find; it's not a square cross-section and it's of an AFM cantilever and it doesn't have the spiffy color stress plot, but it IS relevant to my interests.

@rodrigotrigo: Yeah, up the deformation scale. IIRC, right-click on the result element in the feature manager and go to options/properties, and jack up the scale. SolidWorks is great stuff.

Ah yes, yet another reason to look forward to summer!

Forget the leathers. He's got a girl on each arm, and I'd be willing to be their combined age is less than his.

I'm inclined to agree with you, Ben, except for the fact that the driver (assumed to be the owner) has what appears to be a female passenger.

In other news, Beijing police are on the lookout for a female fugitive described by witnesses as having snakes coming out of her hair. She is suspected of multiple counts of petrification.

Impressive. Sam, you might want to mention up front that this video is sped-up slightly and not in real-time.

Excellent writeup of an excellent car. If you ever need a chase/camera car for another review in Southern/Central Coast California, I'll do it for free.

Either the rear differential (alien technology, without a doubt) or the camshaft.

@HammerheadFistpunch: Insightful articles like these make me miss my C&D subscription. A mental lapse triggerd the subscription lapse.

@mrantimatter: 2 door, but extended cab. I have a 2 door single cab Ranger and on longer drives it gets cramped for taller people. The extended cab gives you more room to slide the seat back and/or recline it slightly. But it's gotta have a beefed-up, high tech suspension, the Ecoboost V6 and a real transmission.
