I hear what you are saying. But the first owners are pretty brutal, too.

Psst. That’s the flex pipe. The catalytic converter is on the other end. ;)

People have issues with 3 blink turn signals? I only wish the manufacturers would let you adjust it to 4 or 5 blinks through the car’s on-board displays. You can adjust some of the Audi/VWs using a factory or aftermarket diagnostic tool to configure it for a 4 or 5 blink.

Alright. But lets subject guns to licensing, state registration, and yearly inspections in addition to mandating that guns are insured.

Well, first of all - cars are regulated - ever hear of driver’s licenses? And cars also have important functionality for society, and does not have a primary purpose as a weapon for killing other people.

By your logic, any advancements in safety features for cars immediately make prior versions open for litigation due to negligent design. The car was built to be a road legal race car, and it satisfied all of the safety requirements in place at the time.

or maybe because his pelvis was crushed by hitting a fucking tree at 100 MPH.

I love how you try to substantiate your point with a straw man argument and legal lingo. I do not consider it negligent that Porsche didn’t factor in the possibility that an asshat would be driving at race-speeds on 9 year old tires, forcing him to hit a narrow, stationary object, one which you’d be hard pressed to

Go hit a tree at 93 mph then attempt to get out of ANY car. You do realize that the passenger compartment becomes compromised with such an impact? No car is designed for that.

he was dead or unconscious on impact, he was on the side of the car that ate the tree at 90mph..

the seatbelt met all legal safety standards.

the seatbelt argument is invalid stop trying to blame porsche for the stupidity of the driver and passenger. idiot signed his own death certificate.

Once you explain how the seat belt caused Rodas to crash into a tree going 93MPH, I will accept that Porsche is to blame. I would be surprised to see ANY car handle that kind of extreme force while keeping both occupants alive.

Am I wrong here, or doesn’t the NHTSA approve vehicles for sale? If it wasn’t safe, and they approved it, wouldn’t that be on them?

If he was handcuffed and tied into his seat its still not Porsche fault. Buddy driving fucked up and the name on the title is responsible for the tires being old.

I don’t remember Porsche advising Rodas to disregard traffic laws while riding on tires that I wouldn’t trust on a Prius. It was a tragic accident caused by idiotic driving. Nothing more, nothing less.

If we couldn’t sue anybody over anything at anytime then very little progress would have been made over the 20th century. Remember that people used to think black people didn’t deserve the same rights until they went to court to argue their case. That alone is worth the frivolous lawsuits.

Or someone’s lawyers and financial advisers are working on their meal tickets right now.

The lawsuit had been thrown out once already, so it’s clear that investigators found no fault in Porsche’s design of the car. I understand why the family is doing that, but they are suing the wrong people. They should instead sue the estate of the driver.

And you get a court date, and you get a court date, and YOU get a court date, and...

it is unfortunate that we live in a time where passing the buck is not only accepted but rewarded, often handsomely. His death was tragic, but not porsche’s fault.
