The part in The Gumball Rally where they're leaving New York in the morning and flying through the streets in the Daytona and the Cobra (starts around 1:43) is probably my personal favorite. Sounds amazing going through a stereo.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My condolences to Ray and the family. I still listen to the reruns of Car Talk. Tom will be missed.

I've learned all of that through lots and lots of research. I'm on miata.net all the time, reading about other people's mechanical problems. These cars have been around for 25 years now, so if there's a problem, in many cases, there is a known solution. I like to read up on them before they happen to me. Never

It's less peaky than the 1.6, so the power is a bit more spread out. If I eventually go turbo, the 1.8 is also the better place to start. Autox will probably depend on the course. It's a heavier car than the 1.6 due to bracing, but it's a little less flexible due to the bracing than the earlier cars would be. It's

Right, but hindsight is 20/20. I still don't regret the 1.8 as I plan on autox eventually.

Hah! No, I looked for about 6 months for a clean, stock example, for 3 grand, and this was the best thing I found. Despite what people will tell you, Miata prices are rising. A $3k Miata is really a $5-$6k Miata waiting to happen, at least for a 1.8. If I'd spent an additional thousand for something a little nicer,

Grad school and I'm still getting the car up to speed. The head gasket and oil cooler both going out kind of wrecked the then-fragile cooling system. I've already changed the most important pieces like the water pump, thermostat, and radiator, but I'm out of cash to have a shop do any more work at this time, so I

Nah, I'll likely just see how bad the oil has pooled at the bottom of the front end of the engine and assess whether to change the belt for sure or not. It would probably be challenging for them to say anything other than "change the belt" just going by photos. So far, I'm not really worried about it, it's more of

The retired cop who lives across the street from my mother has one of these. I laugh every time I see it. He's got a Chevelle SS as well. Weird taste.

This whole car has been great to learn from. The funny thing is that I sold an eight year old Lancer a few years ago, which had almost no problems, but was beginning to show it's age with small random things going wrong. Then for a couple of years, we just had my wife's car and I got to missing owning something of my

I think there is a seal that goes at the end of each bearing and that is what seems to be leaking. This one, here. Those bumps on the valve cover gasket go over the housing that holds these seals in place, from what I've seen on miata.net.

These seals are definitely separate from the valve cover gasket, but don't worry, I'm replacing the valve cover gasket again anyway, so that will be done as well. It's the two seals behind the timing wheels that seem to be leaking, the left on in particular. The shop that changed the head gasket for me last year also

Nah, it's just a 19 year old engine that had the head rebuilt last year. It's fine. Just needs another gasket or three. The worst of it has already been repaired. New head gasket last year, new front crank seal, new water pump, new timing belt, new radiator, new oil cooler. I'm not even sure that the leak has gotten

I've had a leak at the front of my engine ('95 Miata) now for a few months. It's seemed to have been gaining speed lately, so I finally pulled off the valve cover and upper timing cover. From what I'm seeing, it looks like it's coming from the left cam seal, behind the left timing gear.

9.) Bahar Lotus Lineup

Yeah, my wife's phone was having a lot of problems with her Nexus lately, so instead of getting new phones, we ran across a really good deal on the Samsung and so far it's worked out really well.

Also, followed. You've got some really nice shots in there. I wish my Nexus 4 could pull off some of the shots that the iPhone does. But we just got a Samsung point and shoot that has Wifi/NFC transfer to the phone, so it's kind of like a step up from a phone camera but not as big as the DSLR would be.

I have sort of mixed feelings about it. I don't think posting a DSLR shot is bad, but I would agree that heavily edited DSLR shots can be a bit much, especially if they are the only things that someone posts. I kind of use it as an "all of the above" option. Most of my posts are off of my phone, but occasionally I

Acura RSX, at least initially was disappointing to me. My stepfather had one and I wanted to drive it for years. Never got to until a couple of years ago when he passed away. It wasn't an S-Type or anything like that. Just a comfy cruiser with an automatic, but I'd followed these cars and drooled over them since they

The stripes on this SS and on the Sonic look a bit generic. These on the SS seem like they should be wider or follow the hood in some way other than just being centered. It kind of just looks like someone bought them at a parts store and stuck them on there. They don't look aggressive enough. It's a small change but I
