Fucking TikTokers are like Instagramers with 10x the asshole.

Are you suggesting that perhaps they’re just an adult who’s really small and baby-faced for their age?

It’s kind of a shame that broadly people are kinda low key making fun of that guy, considering he was clearly passionate, and also pretty talented considering the repeated looks back at him showed him juggling at least 3 different instruments as the performance evolved.

I’m fairly terminally online, but I barely understood half of what you wrote.

Crazy kid pulling off shenanigans definitely won the award for most entertaining part of the show.

Elden Ring winning GOTY won the award for best part of the show.

Flute player guy that was REALLY into it somehow beat crazy kid for the award for most bizarre part of the show.

This feels right on par for Geoff. No one outshines him or his Award Show. Only except for Hideo Kojima. With whom he fantasizes being best friends with.

He was the most interesting aspect about the Game Awards. You won’t agree to that being a game journalist, but it is true for anybody else having to sit through that. If anything he overshadowed that Flute player that was really into what he was playing.

Trombone Champ: HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!

To be fair, Gordon went 8 months without pay. If that’s true, it’s totally on the producer. I’d be grumpy after that too.

I say make a whole game that’s like the Citadel expansion - live in a swanky apartment, have parties, and solve mysteries and crimes on the side

Wherever she was, there was a dead Reaper, an N7 logo and a ton of snow, but it wasn’t Earth”

You were passionate about everything you did, and it showed. We were all blessed to be able to enjoy Kotaku during your hilarious reign. Thanks for all the great reads and good laughs, Mike.

RIP Mike. My condolences to his family and co-workers. Such an entertaining writer, and for all accounts and amazing guy, gone too soon.

Such sad news. Mike truly was Kotaku.  A man who can give joy from writing about Oreo flavors.  His presence here has been missed and will continue to be so.  Hug your loved ones folks....

This is sad news indeed, I remember back when I was more of a regular on this site, Mikes name was very much a constant name you would see on the articles that appeared on Kotaku. 49 is such a short time, my condolences to his family, friends, collogues and loyal readers, RIP Mr. Fahey, you will definitely be missed

Kotaku was essentially “The Mike Fahey website” to me for so long, it’s hard to believe it even still exists without him. The best anyone can ask for is that our actions echo through time, and I think he hit that mark. He’ll be remembered fondly by so many, and he influenced others with his work.

Just adding that while I never knew him personally, I always felt like I did a bit through his writing.  He had such a clear personality that would come through the page regardless of the topic, which is a truly special gift.  RIP.

Thank you for the beautiful eulogy. The humor, personality and sometimes vulnerability that Fahey injected into his writing lifted the gaming coverage at Kotaku above the click bait articles that fill other websites. He will be missed.

We should all strive to live a life that is remembered so fondly by so many.
