I like the piece and agree with much of it but a couple of observations.

I am happy this worked out so well. Particularly if this is the same Jason phillips who came up with the Mets.

As a Democrat I hope this is right because it will mean Democratic party dominance for a long time to come. As an American I hope she is wrong because I do believe it is important to have two highly competetive parties.

Well as far as Dietl goes he is blowing smoke. He is a hot dog who is spouting off about a case that we simply don't know the details of. Dietl simply panders to the most reactionary people. This is why he is on FoxNews so much. I have seen several former FBI people say the exact opposite.
