I enjoyed this review, but as it has No Sports, I believe it’s best place may be Deadspin, the site, which you may have heard of, designated for Not-Sports, such as this article.

Here’s an excerpt from the book:
It’s a nice story, but I think we are missing the forest for the trees here. The questions we should be asking ourselves are:
So Spanfeller and his goons nuked commenting on Deadspin, and from what I’m reading, it seems like a solid chunk of the staff resigned.
I played Nioh after Sekiro, and it felt pretty easy to me, so I would vote with those who say it’s easier than FromSoft games. I’d also agree with those who say there are too many systems and too much gear to wade through. But I LOVED Sekiro, which has no gear and like two skill trees and that’s it, so maybe that’s…

Nioh is harder in a bunch of ways. It has a steeper learning curve I thought. However, Nioh can be a breeze if you play by just summoning help. I’d imagine a lot of people are still playing Nioh and it wouldn’t be hard to summon people to help you a long the way. Some of the bosses are super hard and double teaming…
I Couldnt even beat the first boss. Having to get back to him and beat the werewolves time and time again ( dying most times I can count) was the last straw for me. Im sure its great, but at 37 I cant do it. When I was younger dying didnt phase me. I mastered ninja gaiden black and loved hard games but not anymore.
Seems to vary between people. Personally I’ve completed every Souls game, Bloodborne and (most of) Sekiro. Nioh was just too hard for me. You just die so damn quick. I've never beat the second boss. The game has a lot of systems and abilities that aren't well explained but are super critical to your success.
Yes
I never finished Bloodborne despite wanting to, and can’t play Souls, but I beat Nioh. A huge part of that is the setting, story, and armor/weapons being more my thing, and that motivated me to push through the skill barrier. But another part that I think is very important is that Nioh is mission-based. Each mission…
Yes, and now you’ll have to worry about what the right stance is for the type of foe/situation you are facing.
No. Nioh is much easier. If souls games had an easier mode, Nioh would fit right in.
I found it incredibly difficult to get into, but once I got the hang of it I thought it was super-easy. I killed almost all of the final 5-6 bosses and levels without dying. And the final boss took make 5-6 tries tops.
I actually found it more difficult than the other Souls-likes. It’s not as fast and aggressive as Bloodborne, but having to manage stances and a bunch of other systems was really annoying to me. It’s a bit too fiddly of a system for me. YMMV as to which one frustrates you more, but if you’re not into that level of…
This is hard to say since aside from getting a handle on the combat every weapon has a decent sized ability/skill tree with moves that you can rely upon to make up for a gaps in reading an enemy’s next move. And unlike other souls games Nioh will spoil you with tons of gear and magic abilities that can break certain…
Yep.
I would love for the Internet to celebrate redemption instead of breaking out pitchforks. Redemption is more meaningful. Pitchforks are just piling on.
Yeah but he did a thing wrong one time so he’s pretty much the worst person ever.
He’s more qualified for public office than 99% of Congress.
