It means I have to buy a cable package for min. $100 to get both Sportsnet and TSN because Bell and Rogers (likely collude to) split the Raps games 50/50 over the season.

During Sportsnet’s (one of two Canadian ESPNs, basically, don’t ask why we have two) highlight shows afterward, they just played the final 2 minutes of the game, uninterrupted, from the TNT broadcast every half hour.

I’d be curious to know how the Sharks do in the ratings relative to the rest of the US teams in the Western Conference. For my money, they play some of the sexiest hockey going, and it seems like the city is really behind the team, but do they really move the needle outside the market (or like, even in the rest of the

Parentheses are but one name for those useful punctuation marks, I’m afraid (courtesy Wikipedia):

YES

The biggest revelation here for me, a product of Ontario’s sterling public education system, is that you Yanks use PEMDAS, which sounds like some sort of Eastern European far-right political party, instead of the much more elegant BEDMAS (“brackets” > “parentheses”).

[most annoyingly pedantic voice possible] Technically this is *arithmetic* but you’ll see that your convenient acrostic still functions as designed [gets shoved into locker with the power of 1,000 Kawhi dunks]

Beautiful place. As a lapsed Catholic, I’m also quite partial to St. Joseph’s Oratory on top of Mt Royal in Montreal, which was finished only in 1967 and looks fairly “Italian Renaissance” from the outside but is a sorta brutalist/modernist masterpiece on the inside. Well worth the walk up the stairs.

Glad Duchene and Dzingel are helping y’all out. If the Leafs move on next round, please know that you’ll have the entire Sens fanbase behind you (yes, all four of us).

Not to mention Lehner and Bishop doing their thing in nets. Oh, and Karlsson has a buncha points for the Sharks. Oh, and Nick Foligno as captain for the Blue Jackets... fuck me and may Eugene Melnyk die a painful death in poverty.

My condolences etc etc but you must admit, bruxism is one hell of a metal name for a psycho-physiological condition

Love getting a good answer on Kinja. I suppose one could extend these developments to soccer and basketball too.

Does anyone know why Canada is good at tennis now? Was there something our vast reserves of freshwater around the turn of the century that led to all these nice and talented young people becoming tennis behemoths?

Just using her examples, I mean, I love Miles Davis and the Beach Boys, but Anti- and All Eyez on Me are fucking fantastic records, through and through, and it’s not like Miles and the various boys of the Beach didn’t release a good dozen albums combined of absolute dreck from about 1979 onward.

How much in the way of CO2 emissions did you save, though? I mean, I love air travel, but it’s by far my single largest source of greenhouse emissions each year.

Summer is still a long, long ways away from Edmonton, by far the most northerly city with a professional sports team in North America.

I was worried that email of the week was gonna be about guy’s balls, so I was genuinely relieved to discover it was just his eyeball that blew up like a watermelon at a Gallagher show.
