Perfect App of the Day for today, maybe even a #lifechanger. Either way, probably a gamechanger in how we follow world events.

An added plus of using darker backgrounds is that when you're texting/browsing in a dark environment—say at a bar with a terrible band that your best friend loves—it won't be so obvious that you're bored out of your skull.

Had to laugh at the last one, since my girlfriend is always asking why I save all my iPod and iPhone packaging. Not that I've ever used them, but...

@rashad123us: Agreed. When I read "sans fugliness" I assumed that was a picture of an old model. But...yikes.

Excellent article. Seriously, I love it when Giz reminds me of Popular Science—it's too easy to forget the nuts and bolts behind all our gadgets.

@Brownski: This is a really basic example...all I did was import the photo; all the settings were left at whatever they were on.
