Yes, a civil case against the kid and his family. The cyclists’ lawyers posted something a while back stating they definitely have a good idea of what the family is worth - i.e. they are going after everything.

This is Texas we’re talking about. Even if he’s charged, he’ll either be found innocent or get a slap on the wrist. I was told as a teen, upon facing license revocation following my first speeding ticket, that I’m responsible for things I do on the road even if they’re not intentional. I never imagined that this would become less true as the infraction and/or impacts grew more severe.
