This is one of the deeply weirdest things I have ever read, and I spend a lot of time on the internet. Bravo.

The story contains Art Briles.

Luke-warm take: It’s ok to be annoyed if a guy refuses to shake your hand before the game.

I like Richard Sherman - I don’t think he’s asking too much to have a respectful handshake before the game. Why not?

I’m sure the million ethnic Muslim Ugyhurs residing in the Xinjiang re-education camps will be happy to hear about the NBA’s commitment to Chinese fans as they assemble for their 5 a.m. re-education seminar. It will make their morning rice gruel taste so much sweeter.

Yeah I don’t want businesses to humble brag, complain or point out the benefits they should be be providing their employees in the first place.

This person seems to assume that the Red Sox are a public company or something.

I’m not sure what the owner’s net worth has to do anything. That suggests the finances of the team are commingled with the personal funds of the owner. Here’s a better reason to keep Betts.

You give McQuery a lot of credit here. It’s just as likely he was a selfish coward or a terrible person who valued his own interests more than that of a victim of sexual abuse. I’m glad he ultimately told the truth, but he clearly failed in the moment.

I keep seeing reasons for this to be a good thing, but I can’t quite get over how nice it was as a kid to finally have a long stretch of time where I didn’t have homework and other annoying stuff. Long vacations are so nice. Then again, I was never the kind to either get bored or get in trouble.

I mean sure he’d make more money up front, but if he has a long MLB career he could end up making more money. Not to mention there’s always the possibility of suffering a career threatening injury on any given play, or developing CTE and having a poorer quality of life when his career is over. But who cares about

He’s basically what the movie “Rookie of the Year” would have been if the kid had been Ben Shapiro.

The independent Bauer-Portnoy 2020 ticket is gonna cause Trump some real problems with his base, I can feel it.

I think we need to take the moral high ground on an issue like this and ask ourselves, how can we leverage this effectively so that Ernie Grunfeld gets fucking fired?

And so the real villain here is ... the NBA’s salary cap and max-contract system! The Warriors have plenty of money and likely would extend Green’s and Durant’s—and Thompson’s—contracts into outer space if bad rules hadn’t been put in place to attach ludicrous penalties to doing so.

I think it worked the other way around. Businesses have been doing this for time out of mind (at least since the 1980s). I think modern sports owners learned it from the biz community.

The key to getting away with charging an inflated rate for medical tests is to micturate in with other, lower rates.

Getting Broke Lopez has helped a lot. As has Ersan Ilyasova for the Mirza Teletovic Memorial White Dude Stretch-4 role. But what stands out most is how there’s actually off-the-ball movement whether Giannis is posting up or driving, thus changing the passing windows and forcing the defense to adjust. What a concept!

Wow. As someone who has struggled with mental health, I found this article really encouraging. A highly successful athlete has a break down and through the support of others and awareness of himself he makes it back to what he loves the most. That’s the good stuff right there.
