Well sure. But my point that he is nationalist, pro-Christian, anti-gay, pro crony capitalism. These sometimes disparate groups are the same coalition the GOP has fused together here. There is not a lot of daylight between Putin and the far right here.  

Not really. Putin is far from a communist. He is a right wing Bannon nationalist. It is the right that brings these people together? Why? Because we now identify more by political affiliation than anything else.
