They are astonishing. I recommend White Crosses for an intro - a lot of their early fans found it too commercial & polished, but it is insanely catchy. All of their albums are wonderful, though. I never tire of them and LJG is an American treasure.

The same could not be said of Tebow. If he could play at all he’d be on a roster. He got endless chances because the league really wanted him to work out. He had every single advantage and failed because he was never an NFL caliber QB on any roster. 

It’s fine to criticize Smoltz as a broadcaster, but you can’t hold him to the same standards as an actual journalist or beat writer. Smoltz is a guy who just drops in once a week to talk about a baseball game, it’s not as if he’s a member of the permanent press.
