I actually think they should have just reworked his scripts. Lucas always had great ideas that needed to be refined, that’s how we got Star Wars in the first place. I just hope episode 8 isn’t just an Empire Strikes Back recreation.

I still think the CGI is great, I loved that film, I was 11 when it was released and I didn’t know anything about what the criticas has to say. I remember buying the DVD with my christmas money that winter too. Good times.

I was a kid when the prequels came out and there were toys for everything then. I had a ton of attack of the clones sets. I actually now am always looking for prequel sets because those films were my films. There is stuff available but there is less of it.

I think episode 1s flaws were just so jarring for most people, that they couldn’t enjoy its good points. They also don’t repeat their viewing of it and in general have a bad opinion of it. Episode 7 by contrast is just fun to watch with flaws that are more apparent on repeat watches than the first time in theaters.
