I thought this was Jalopnik, not the comment threads from Fox News. Holy crap things are devolving quickly these days.
I taught at a pretty exclusive private and would get out of my toyota minivan and one of my students would pull up in a Range Rover, Merc, BMW M3 or whatever... and this kid is supposed to take me seriously?
Is their footage of them trying to recover their money after the dent was professionally repaired?
I’m a bit conflicted. The 19 year old in me says NP. The 50 year old me knows I’d maybe get it running and drive it looking like it does and never finish.
Nostalgia for a 33 year old RWD wagon aside, for the same money or less I could get a much safer, more fun to drive 10 year old Focus wagon with fewer miles. CP. I drove these around in my youth - it’s just an economy car. Maybe for $1000.
It’s about what I expected honestly. Unfortunately, Chris Evans is intolerable and makes the show hard to watch.
First car I ever bought new in 1985 was the 2WD wagon. Great little car. Sold it after 4 years to buy a friend’s used 240 wagon which ended up needing a lot of expensive repairs. Regretted selling that Honda for years.
My grandmother was learning to drive on a Model T, crashed it and never drove again her entire life.
I live in an urban area where lots of folks are trying to keep their clunkers running. Sometimes the local AutoZone parking lot looks like a repair shop with all the hoods up and cars on jacks. There’s like a bucket of loaner tools and I’ve seen employees out helping wrench stuff. I’ve had generally fantastic service…
The expectations for St. Louis are so low that people who come here are generally surprised. One fact about St. Louis was that they sell more sauce per capita than any other US city so the bulk of our good bbq is made in backyards. There has been a recent revival of great craft beer and small restaurants recently but…
I have a feeling this is going to be a long season.
Neighbor had one of those when I was a kid. He actually had to have a bump out added to the back his garage so he could fit it in. He was a nicer older gentleman and if we missed the bus he’d drive offer us to school. In the Caddy. Whooo hoo. I just recall a lot of room, lots of switches and gizmos and everything…
I second this. Dead simple. Brews quickly. I’ve owned Cuisinart, Krupps, Mr. Coffee, etc. This just makes a better tasting cup for reasons I cant tell you. My mother liked it so much she bought one too but went for the thermal carafe which I must say cools your coffee down too much.

Could not agree more. Twitter was fun at first but that wore off. The a few years ago, I did a few projects for Twitter through a third party. That was the nail in the coffin. Bonifide Twitter Hater now.
I watched something very similar play out a few cars in front of me years ago, only it was a pickup towing a pontoon boat. Gradual curve + overpass and some dips in the road. Boat trailer bounced a few times which torqued at the truck, possibly an over correction by the driver and in a split second both were on their…
My sister had one of these in blue. It was already rusting in 1983 when she bought it used for around $1900. That car never failed to run. Back in the late 80s we had record cold temperatures and out of a fleet of like 8 cars staying at our parents for the holidays - the little Honda was the only car we could get…
Ah, yes, Levis Gremlin - I’ve ridden in one of those. Gremlins, Pintos, and Vegas were pretty much the hand-me-down cars of my youth. Funny thing was that they were only maybe 5 years old or so but were already rusting, hard to start, and all seemed to have a funky smelling interiors. Cars have come a long way since…
My Aunt had one of these and was pulled over for speeding on the interstate with a load of us kids inside. The officer read her the riot act about endangering “the children” by speeding in such an unsafe death-trap. That was back when the thing was new. Even then it was noisy, smelly and did feel flimsy compared to…
