I hated it too. Made it 4 months both times but it was really going back to work and trying to pump that caused me to quit altogether - that is the worst. The first time especially though, breastfeeding made me feel claustrophobic. I loved giving them bottles though.

anecdote : my mom didn’t breastfeed me because she didn’t want to, and I grew up to be a happy and healthy girl who rarely gets sick, BUT NOW I COMMENT ON GAWKER

Of course he’s a Labrador. Of course.

I had a dog sort of like this. He wasn’t as keen on the non-edible items, and he was real dumb so he never figured out how to open shit, but if there was something edible anywhere accessible to him, he’d eat it. All of it. Until it was literally coming back out of both ends. Thank god for him being dumber than a box

Every woman is different but I loved nursing. I nursed my daughter for 16 months and never pumped or used formula. Please note, I’m not saying that’s what people SHOULD do. I was mostly lazy and found nursing easier than sterilizing bottles, preparing formula and pumping (which I technically never tried so maybe it

I don’t have a child, but might within the next two years. Breastfeeding sounds horrible to me. I do NOT look forward to that part, maybe even less so than labor itself. Just reading this post made me get goosebumps. It sounds so painful!

I’m hoping we’ll see an impact this election. My parents are “economic conservatives” but have always been for gay marriage, abortion, and immigration. They were Dems until Clinton’s time because... I really have no idea why. Anyway it’s been a real issue for me and my siblings to come to terms with because even those

I work in financial services, a bastion of white conservative Republicans. I’ve seen an interesting shift there and it’s away from this sort of bullshit. The most conservative woman I know recently said something I found interesting: “The social issues are done. We’re finished there. The Supreme Court has made that

You’re welcome. As to the content of your post, these are really a separate breed of GOP compared to their small government cousins. Notice the name of the session

I’d like to know how these freaks would defend their intrusive views when trying to argue that the Republican Party is really the party of smaller government. It seems to me that their positions on the social issues is the epitome of government overreach. I suppose they could argue that they want it to be up to the

Michelle, Malala, and Bey??! Yes please!

Can I have some cheese?

My son is 14 and just beginning the teenage craziness (late bloomer). I am in hell and very jealous of you right now.

That may be me.

My mom and I started to share cool things like canning and cooking only a few years ago and I wish I had been able to have that with her when I was still around more. Plus, who doesn't want to know how to make cheese?

That is super cool and I hope that I am similarly making my parents proud.

Yarn. GIVE IT ALL TO ME.

My 17 year old came to my room last night to thank him for making him smart. He said so many of his friends don’t understand things and when he tries to help them they don’t get it. I’ve never been so proud of being his Mom :-)
