I watched it last night too and some of it was hard to get through. I feel like he’s going to regret some of the things he said even though they were jokes. Still there were parts that had me crying I was laughing so hard (the bit about the post office and DMV are priceless, especially since I work a similar job).

If you live in a place where you don’t normally get to see a lot of the bands you’re into, and you go just to see the music and not to be seen, it’s great. I went in ‘08 and got to see Portishead and Prince and even though I was in my mid thirties at the time I consider it a formative experience.

I’m a fan and I don’t hear misogyny at all. He’s just a huge smart ass and “Father John Misty” is essentially a character he’s playing.

He’s amazing live, honestly I wouldn’t even need to hear him sing, just fuck with the audience for two hours. He’s great at it.

I was thinking along the same lines after watching the show! I have female friends (Sanders supporters) posting unflattering pics of her on FB as a joke I guess. The best is when they’re all group pics and you can’t tell who is actually the person the profile belongs to.

I encountered the same thing on OKC and deleted my profile. Then about a year later I went back on to prove to my friend how awful it is. Within a day I got a nice message (among all the offers of D) and, well, we’ve been together for a year and a half.
