I am glad that I live in a country where I have no problems opening a door for a stranger in distress at any time.

The stage is being set so that any Democratic win will be seen as illegitimate. The “violence” against them will be their losing, and will justify their actual violence in return.

That’s exactly what it is. 

20 years of plotting (not to mention gerrymandering, voter suppression, etc) are doing their best to lock the pendulum in place.

I think it’s the show, not the actors.  Metcalf was nominated for an Oscar and won a Tony this year.  But I do think she’s terrible as Jackie, where the general character choice seems to be scream and mug.
