great! I love it when a perceived disagreement ends in mutual understanding. score one for the human condition.
what can I say, I enjoy the argument. I only suggest you move on if the issue is causing you stress, which I can't possibly know but you seem to take my wikipedia joke pretty seriously. You got me on the word choice, though, I should have said "a burger is not JUST a sandwich".. but I tried to be pretty clear about…
First, I never said everything of anything on wikipedia is inaccurate. I just called you out for using it to settle an argument. I find it very amusing when people make shitloads of arguments against what they assume others thing, and still try to come off as intelligent.
Also, none of my arguments are inconsistent at…
I don't know where you got the idea I disagreed with that. I think I may have phrased something poorly, but I don't care to go back and check. Essentially you made my exact point.
maybe I'm the one who's confused, most people seem to be in your court.
Well you can imagine what everyone in the world understands all you want, I was reading what you literally wrote not what I assume you meant. the fact that you wrote it in reply to what I had posted made me believe you were in disagreement, highlighted by the "this can't get any simpler" comment at the end.
interesting correlation, but not the point I was trying to make. All I'm saying is a burger is a patty of meat. I already mentioned it is also a sandwich.
you used wikipedia to make an argument, and therefore have no credibility.
a patty melt is a type of sandwich, which has little to do with this discussion.
that's all I'm saying. It applies to both the patty & the sandwich. Therefore a burger is NOT a sandwich, because sometimes a burger is just a patty.
I'm having this discussion on a different website also and someone made the same comment. Seriously, what the hell? Salisbury steak is a separate dish entirely. That's like saying a chicken breast sandwich without bread is chicken parmesan. No, that's just another meal you are thinking of.
what about the other 5% of the time? Ipso facto if a burger is a sandwich, and a sandwich is something served on bread, then without the bread you have no burger. I would contend you still have a burger regardless of how its served.
you'd also be hard pressed to find a hot dog on the menu that is served without a bun. That doesn't mean that hot dog = sandwich
yea, I think we are in agreement on the corn beef. Not a sandwich without the bread.
actually it's still a chicken breast. The combined food dish is called a "chicken breast sandwich". No one would say it isn't a chicken breast without the bread.
hmmm interesting point. I guess I should tell people I'm grilling burger patties, not burgers.
people do it all the time.
ok idiots, try this on for size.
worst argument ever. If I put a piece of chicken between to pieces of bread its a chicken sandwich. that doesnt mean fried chicken breast is a sandwich.
