The Celtics couldn’t hit ANYTHING in the first half, and the Cavs couldn’t miss. There were layup airballs, and monster dunks springing 30 feet back off the rim. Meanwhile, JR Smith looked like Steph Curry.

It wasn’t the threes, it was the 15 missed point blank layups and dunks in the first quarter. Too big of a hole to dig out of even though they outscored Cleveland in the next three quarters

I followed the first half through box score updates/play-by-play over the web, and watched the second half. The second half was pretty ugly for both teams. They both regressed to the mean in the second half statistically, but the hot start for Cleveland turned out to be insurmountable.

I feel like James Harden is basketball’s version of Compubox’s Floyd Mayweather.

One more post should clear things up.

I’m not saying Cleveland is going to come back and win but it used to be that when a team won their first two home games the talk was always, “They took care of businesses and defended their home court” and “The series doesn’t start until a road team wins a game.” I’m not sure if it’s the Twitterization of sports or

Poor Nene knew what he was about to get when he checked in to the game. It went just as we all expected!

Houston reminds me of the old wishbone Oklahoma/Nebraska CFB teams of the 70's and 80's. The cynical offense was perfect at exploiting their talent mismatch as they obliterated the Iowa States and Kansas St’s each year. But then on those rare times they’d play a team out of conference that matched or equaled their

I want the Warriors to win, but more than that, I want to see elimination game James Harden. I love nothing more than watching him slowly loaf to either end of the floor throwing up bricks that could be airballs, while he stares off glassy eyed and coughs up double digit turnovers.

Houston’s basically running the Bel-Air Academy offense.

Pretty much. The money is all concentrated in a few players per team. Basically, your rookies get screwed so top QBs can get $30 million per year and top pass rushers can get $20 million. Your mid-level veterans don’t seem to get much benefit.

I thought the whole point of the rookie wage scale was veterans being willing to screw over rookies because it meant that money would be paid to proven players. Now you’re telling me they screwed over rookies and thus incentivized teams to underpay new kids and depress the veteran market anyway?

I’m sure the officiating crews from Game 3 on will give him all the meaningful help he needs. Teammates come and go but the refs will never let LeBron down.

There’s some truth in there in terms of execution (and the idea that they think reason is baked into the populace when the vast majority of people are, frankly, stupid or won’t be bothered to think).

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sure. The NBA is effectively positionless these days anyway, so it doesn’t really matter. He’s 6'10" and can’t shoot from beyond three feet, which doesn’t sound like a guard to me, but he does direct the offense.

As for the Kaepernick and Reid point: I hope you’re right, but I doubt it. After Kaep sat for the anthem during a couple of preseason games, he actually consulted with a military veteran who told him that kneeling would be more respectful to those who serve, while still making his point. Those who oppose kneeling seem

The NFL will be about the last place where weed is legalized. Basically every owner is Jeff Sessions.

And people have the audacity to blame Kawhi for being hesitant to come back. Yes, I’m probably beating a dead horse with all these Kawhi-IT comparisons I’ve made in the past week or so and yes, I get it, they’re completely different players in different situations. But, in a business where you can go from to the top

You can take whatever team you want from whatever era and put them on the court. Points are getting scored. It’s not the (more athletic, on the whole) players. It’s not the coaches. It’s the offensive talent of the average player and advanced understanding of efficient scoring. Get with it, git fukt, whatever.
