They don’t have a hell, at least not the same way as Christians or Muslims. They view existence as a form of suffering, with the goal being to stop existing (or rejoin some universal energy...which is a somewhat different way of phrasing the same basic idea). So the world is basically hell for them.

They’re great. I recall a lot of people, even among atheists, being a bit apprehensive about the Satanic Temple concept when they first started making noise. But they’re really done an excellent job so far, in my opinion. Granted, fucking with the religious right is pretty much always a good thing in my book.

I think that there’s an important correlation here: The more that someone looks down on other people who vote based on “social issues”, the less likely it is that they have ever been personally affected by any of the issues that they dismiss.
