The “plus” button on vtech cars (the only cars with this function) actually increases the vtech, resulting in more revs as the vtech velocitates higher, resulting in the horsepowers and torques synergizing together, multiplicating speed and efficiency.

As much as actual “track time” is literally a fraction of that compared to other forms of motorsports, that literal feel of the power and speed is unique in the sport, rivaled perhaps by the first laps of an F1 race (pre-turbo-”power unit” era).
