The real question, to me, is why does the Academy get a pass for allowing him to have a membership for more than forty years after he confessed guilty to raping a 13 year old girl? Why does Hollywood require spurning from public outrage to do the right thing?

Every article about him should also add that 3 other women have accused Polanski or raping them when they were minors. Two were 16 and one was 15. He does like them young.

The court hearing this should require him to appear in person.

They did explain this in the then - canon Star Wars novels. Not that it matters now.

Way I see it, the only theory that could tie the whole sequel trilogy together at this point is if Rey is a clone. It’s an unexpected callback to the prequels for sure, and there have been plenty of clues - the early script leaks where Luke’s severed hand is some kind of MacGuffin, the references to Cloud City when

that’s why the clone wars should have had the cloners be on the opposite side of the war, so when the republic/empire beat them, cloning would be outlawed and that whole thing would make sense.

And even when they DID use it on that one guy to make an army, did nobody mind that those clones were being raised from birth to be expendable soldiers ... by the good guys?

The Clone War was so much better before Lucas tried to explain it.

Dude, I just thought of this: what if the entire Ultron plot was contained to Stark Tower and played out more or less in real time? You have all these powerful heroes in lockdown trying to contain him from accessing the outside world, but he keeps shifting to and making new robot bodies based off Tony’s armor and even

THIS. Jesus Christ, if people are so stupid that they get their “news” off Facebook and believe it because it’s on their damned screen, then we can’t rely on them to make an informed decision about anything anyway.

When it comes to the kids, I’m all about cleaning up YouTube. If it says Kids in the title, it better be squeaky clean. That should not be a difficult task.

It’s probably heavily influenced by Bear Grylls, with scenes where Methuselah heroically builds shelter and a fire following a heavy rainstorm just 100 yards away from a Radisson.

Maybe it’ll just focus on him eating rice and meditation - here that’s how most people live long lives.

There’s a whole extra-Biblical Midrashic and legendary tradition of Methuselah as a fighter of demons or fallen spirits.  I assume that’s what they’re going with here.

“He died so young! He was barely 600 years old!”

It’s been a long time since I fell asleep in Sunday school, but I thought he eventually died in the flood? In which case, some great survival skills, buddy. I mean, panda bears managed to make it through the flood. Pandas.

The question is whether they NEED to. I mean it’s supposed to all be about the algorithms, right? If Netflix hasn’t taught its algorithms to infer gender identity from viewing habits, does that actually change anything about what they’re doing? Netflix knows that a lot of my viewing on their platform is B-grade action

For a second, I thought, “Hey, Will Smith’s a decent singer, who kne-....oh, right.”

I think—when they release it in theaters—that it won’t be in protrait format any more.
