I don’t see how you can claim that as any objective truth. Lebowski is quite good but didn’t hit me nearly as hard as Rushmore did. I get why it has the staying power it does but for me, nah. Rushmore rocked me on my heels.

I think for people in the “cult,” Lebowski is the greatest movie ever. For the rest of us, it’s entertaining and quotable, to be sure, but no materpiece. I’d personally put a half-dozen other Coens above it. Rushmore, on the other hand, may be in my all-time top ten.
