My first thought was that it was intentional programming, like someone thought it’d be a good/fun idea to program alexa to laugh along whenever it heard laughter in the room, but whatever algorithm they use to detect laughter isn’t quite able to differentiate laughs from conversations or even just random noises.

I know its silly to respond to the hyperbole of a headline, because all websites are just gross clickbait now (see I can do hyperbole too!), BUT...what? This was a neat little video, but I wouldn’t qualify it as “one of the best” of whatever category this is, whether that be music videos in general, more specifically

Yeah, its a basic idea, and design is often riffing on and paying with the same ideas, but that said the execution of these posters, from the color scheme, font choice, layout, background texture, are all fairly identical and really do demonstrate more of a theft of execution rather than an authentic/separate take on

What is she funny or something?

I really want to like this show but I come away from it mostly feeling like its just “fine.” There are some good gags, but overall it doesn’t really go for the humor as much as I had hoped it would, and the plot and character arcs they’re developing are fine, but not terribly involving or resonant. I have no emotion

At one point Freeman’s character notes notes he’s never seen mag-lev trains operation for six efficently. It would if course make sense if those were actually....SOUL TRAINS!

Some spoilery speculation, but the idea has been put out there that the kind of magical powers exhibited behind vibranium in this movie is tied to the soul stone. Could be after the next Avengers, Thanos gaining (and Wakanda losing) the soul stone renders the seemingly magical abilities of vibranium useless, making it

The song’s use was all properly licensed, what she was trying to argue is that she herself never gave explicit permission to use the song (which, as she is not the copyright holder, wouldn’t be necessary, hence the judge’s notation that her suit doesn’t preempt copyright laws). She was arguing that in the instances

A bit of an element of different times too though. Clearly both are trying to blaze a path towards superstardom, and both have been successful at doing so. But in the 80s and early 90s, movie reviews and word of mouth still played a role in a movie’s performance, since films made their box office over weeks and

Looking at pictures of the dildo, in addition to seeming like it’d be a terrible sex toy, its just not all very imaginative or seemingly researched, it looks like they just thought, “make it weird and the same color as the creature.”

I’m a bit confused by the concept of “team” figure skating. They have individuals doing different routines, on different days, that are in no way related, and just average their scores and call it a “team” event? Why? We already have a men singles, women singles, and pairs event, whats the point of having a team

For someone who claims they’d watch Tom Hardy in anything you seemed to have missed quite a few Hardy flicks, Warrior (he’s also shirtless for much if it), Lawless, This Means War, The Revenant, The Drop, all have American accents (the latter two are regional accents, but still...)

Why even release this? Venom super fans, if that’s a thing, know about this movie, so an announcement trailer won’t do much. And casual fans or people who don’t know anything get nothing from this teaser that is interesting or exciting.

Wow that was just top to bottom lazy, between Portman, I’m assuming, having nothing to promote, and the cast/writers already in vacation mode as they head into Olympic hiatus, this episode had the clear stench of no one giving a shit.

I was never a great fan of this novel, its a rich idea that didn’t really fully deliver, but I had hope for a series because they always talked about the novel as being more of a spring board for the series, rather than the bible for it. And for me, nothing Gaiman has done has ever come close to approaching the

Weird that this article says there’s 129 replies but when I click on it there’s only 12. Does sponsored content get a fake comment count to further lure readers into it?

Zero reason for this to be a video, there wasn’t even an ad attached to it! (which I assume is the main reason ordinary content is made into video content).

It is odd that people seem to think Abrams had a masterplan, when literally nothing in his career suggests he thinks that far ahead. He’s always been the guy who just throws shit at the screen to get the ball rolling, with little regard of how or why or what anything means in terms of story or character, if its shiny

Made it 2 minutes into The Resident and was done. Sarcastic exposition nurse was just more than I handle. “You hit an artery, on an appendectomy?” “You have to clamp something he’s lost a lot of blood” “CPR isn’t gonna put that blood back into his body” “he’s.so.dead.”

MJS nails it, these top names are essentially your loss leaders. If netflix was just randomly signing up middle tier comedians, a) no one would really notice and/or make an effort to watch and b) comedians wouldn’t be that enthusiastic to sign over their material when they could keep performing it and/or sell a comedy
