Yeah the geofencing is great. I love seeing the house magically light up as I’m pulling in the driveway. It’s also great when forget to turn off the lights when I leave, and within a block of home i get a notification on my Garmin that I can tap to “turn off the lights.”
Yeah. I’d say that leveraging a small amount of guilt to motivate a positive action/behavior is better than succumbing to nihilism. That said, I agree with the author that wracking yourself with guilt is counter productive.
Lol. I get a bunch of new responses every few months. Yeah, they are great. I tell everyone who asks about them that smart dimmers should be their first smart home investment.
I ended up installing Lutron Caseta (38 devices including 15 dimmers, 4 plugs, 1 switch, and 18 remotes controlling about 65 lights), and couldn’t be happier. They’ve been rock solid for 18+ months. I also use a few wemo plugs for some outside lights and other things. I agree that the wemo ones are pretty good too.

Yeah. Without a budget in mind and based on the information provided I’d probably say an A7III with Sony-Zeiss 55/1.8 and Tamron 28-75/2.8.

Yep. I installed a bunch of Lutron Caseta dimmers/plugs 18 months ago and some more few months back (including changing out some old Xeon under cabinets to LED so they would work with dimmers). Anyway, I have 38 devices (15 dimmers, 4 plugs, 1 switch, and 18 remotes) controlling about 65 lights. The system has been…
I went with the Lutron Caseta. I highly recommend them!
Those look nice. I went with Lutron Caseta about 18 months ago, and am loving them.

I miss my Pebble 2 HR (dang crappy button rubber). I have a Garmin Vivoactive 4s and love it. It’s a lot thicker than the PTR, but might be worth a look at when you have to say goodbye to the Pebble.
Yeah. I also thought Pebble could have survived if they licensed their software to the Timexs and Casios of the world. Mainly, i just miss Pebble.
It’s amazing to see all of these other companies eating Google Wear’s lunch. that said, I always thought/wished that Timex would have bought Pebble instead of Fitbit.
Most of your list was at least addressed if not explicitly answered. The items that weren’t are mostly small things that didn’t need to be addressed.
Agreed. I love cast iron. I use this one the most because it’s huge and the low sides allows for easy food flipping. .

A big ass cast iron pizza pan. I’ve never actually cooked pizza on it, but it stays on the big burner of my stove all the time. I have other cast iron pans but I use this for 90% of my cast iron cooking. If you don’t already have an integrated flat top on your stove, these are essential for everyday searing, browning,…
