Absolutely. She’s in so many sketches that I’m so hyperaware of her presence on screen. That’s no discredit to her - she’s so incredibly talented - but SNL has been leaning on her wayyyyy too much these last few years. I didn’t even realize she was out for most of it until we got to the goodbyes.

Yea the article goes into way more detail, I think this blurb was to avoid the (real life) spoilers about how fucked up things became. It’s a terrible and fascinating story - worth a read, if you have the time, but given the source material, the docuseries seems like it would be pretty damn interesting.

As someone whose sister died of DIPG, I’m just glad this form of cancer is getting some awareness. That shit is fucked up, even as far as cancers go - almost exclusively targets children, completely inoperable, and has a mortality rate of 100%. Like, really, Cancer? Way to pull out all the stops on this one.

I like “Cat Person” because both the story AND the backlash to is a perfect rubric to which we can compare our own experiences.
