You know cities are really bad for the environment too, should we wish they get hit by hurricanes?

Your emotional attachment to the area doesn’t change the fact that they squeezed 24 golf courses on to an island so a bunch of rich white people can go hit a little ball. Do you have any idea how much pesticide and fertilizer runoff we’d be rid of?
What blows my mind is the price that the sell the DLC plane for, that sucker cost $99.00. You have to be a real hardcore flight sim player to shell out that kind of money to begin with and the company repays their customers by knowingly installing malware on their PC.
Yep, they even stated in their response that they knew what serial numbers were used for pirated copies. If they wanted to fix piracy issues they could have simply banned those serial numbers. What they did and what they say do not match up at all, they went out of their way to steal that information.
I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t feel very comfortable about being in a car designed to burst into flames, even if the manufacturer assured me it’ll only happen if it’s stolen.
...as well as never use any such heavy-handed approach in the future.
Did you read the linked article? The malware is installed regardless.
Well you obviously don’t understand big words or concepts more complex than “piracy is bad” so I have to meet you down on your level. It smells weird down here but I’m willing to make sacrifices to teach you about being an adult! It takes a village to raise an idiot!
Well, it’s sort of like that, except the cars don’t in any way burn and in fact run fine, but steal your personal login information to your email, bank account, health insurance, etc.
(Given that it isn’t used on the properly purchased versions)
Whether this company will use this against legit players doesn’t matter, the simple fact that this exists means that someone else could use it. So this company could be very innocent and an angel and would never misuse this, but this already exists so all it takes is one person that isn’t so innocent to get control of…
You read the whole article top to bottom and you still didn’t understand it? Wow, you’re even dumber than we thought.
You’ve clearly never worked in software development if you’re that certain the code will work as expected...
Sure, it’s like your car burning example, except that there’s no way to guarantee they turned it off just because you bought the car and no way to know it’s not going to malfunction after you buy it and burn your garage and house down anyway.
You know what’s worse than pirates? People that can’t be bothered to read the article before they comment on it.
This is literally illegal.
It sounds like they were using them to try to figure out the real identity of people who used the computer on which they believed a pirated copy of their software was installed.
I’m fairly certain what they did here was illegal though. They are not granted the authority to gather evidence by breaking the Computer…
Are they too young to remember the Sony rootkit fiasco or so arrogant they thought they could get away with it? Probably both.
I want to thank you all for voicing your concerns
Here’s my burning question:
