Bring Me Knitting

I was there in the early spring about four years ago, and I recall it looking quite similar dead-vegetation-wise, but perhaps you were lucky enough to catch Scotland at a slightly greener moment!

I've been to Culloden. It's very beautiful, quiet, and sad. You walk though timeline of the unprising and related events, all the while gathering a deep sense of foreboding on behalf these doomed people, internally slapping yourself at all the if onlys that pop up in your mind, only to then step directly out onto the

I continue to stand by my previous statements about the weirdly cheap look of this season, but I am growing accustomed to it, and have decided to interpret it as a charming nod to Classic Who! I really enjoyed Capaldi in this episode, and Clara is quickly going from companion I enjoy but do not feel strongly about, to

I am terribly tempted to try tonight, but if I manage to find some willpower, I'll wait until I have a bit more time and patience this weekend. Do you have any gravy wisdom to pass along?

I too find it difficult to resist the siren song of biscuits and gravy when they call to me from the menu. However, despite my decently passable biscuit-baking, I have never been able to make an acceptable sawmill or sausage gravy! This failing haunts my brain, my heart, and my stomach.

This Paul McGann fellow really is a superb Doctor! I can't wait to see his next TV adventure!

The Fiveish Doctors makes me smile every time I think about it! It was the not-exactly-on-tv television event of the century!

I promise I haven't turned on motion smoothing. I would vomit every time I watched TV if that were the case, but I understand why my comment would make you think I had, and I support any effort to educate others about the horrors of motion smoothing. I read up about it after trying to watch Mad Men at a friend's house

I've not had too much issue with the voiceover previously, but from the outset of this episode, it definitely grated on me. This was also the first episode that my sister (a devout book reader who has loved the show so far) has been unable to stop herself from screaming about how "THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!" but, I am

A number of people have commented on how great they think this season looks so far. Unfortunately, I have found myself distracted by how poor it looks! I don't know if I should blame my tv (it is the same one I used for series 7, which looked fine), or if something else is going on, but it's as if whatever tv magic

In that case, may I recommend Nabisco Chocolate Wafers? They can be made magical when transformed into icebox cake or grasshopper pie, but are truly transcendent when eaten plain with a glass of milk.

I posted words of knitting encouragement earlier, but they seemed to have been autoflagged for containing a link. Anyway, a big chunky scarf would be a great reintroduction to knitting! Someone has posted a free Ravelry pattern inspired by the one Claire wore in this episode, which can be found via a simple web

Do it! The big chunky circular scarf would be a great reintroduction, and if you're interested, someone on Ravelry has apparently worked out a pattern for it!

Strax has!

Yes it was!!!

I smiled so hard when Matt Smith's voice once again skipped through my speakers. I was so pleasantly surprised and distracted, I had to rip out an entire row of knitting afterward! I am all in for Capaldi, I enjoyed his performance in this episode and am super-ready to see where this season is going, but it was nice

Like many here, I too grew up in the 90s, and Robin Williams was perhaps the most central figure on my pop culture landscape. His most beloved film for me as a young child was certainly Aladdin, but as I've reflected back over the past few days, I've been surprised by how many there were - Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook,

There are lots of options, some centered around specific patterns, others around particular themes, some are yarn-specific, and so on…

I like knitting toooooo! If you want any help remembering/inspiration to keep on knitting, might I suggest Ravelry? You can even fuse your love of knitting and popular culture with thing like TV Show Knitalongs, and piles of patterns for things inspired by and from your favorite bits of media.
