I was rather fond of Akiko Suzuki's and Mao Asada's outfits last night, though Yuna Kim's dress from the short program is probably my favorite of the entire competition.

Bolero, by Ravel! I was slightly disappointed that the face-killing trombone solo was cut, but I recovered!

This morning, I rewatched the Michelle and Tara's short and long Nagano programs for the first time since '98. For some reason, over the past 16 years, I'd developed the impression that Michelle had made some mistake that had allowed Tara to push past her in the ranking, but man, Michelle skated her beautiful,

I look forward to seeing if they made good on their promise to add some sparkle to Terry, ahem, Terrence's wardrobe today!

I too have been shunning the primetime figure skating commentary in favor of Weir/Lipinski, in part because of my preemptive annoyance at the thought of the sort of storylines the primetime crew might have tried to pull and push from the wreckage of the men's event.

She's basically Gillian Jacob's secret athletic younger sister, in both appearance and post-performance goofiness, so I couldn't help but think of Britta's special song and dance as she skated about.

I was impressed by Kostner's performance in the team competition, so I was so happy to see her do so well in the individual short program! She and Yuna Kim were my favorites of the night, though I think Yuna really deserved a slightly higher score - I'm pretty sure she floats rather than skating. That said, I applaud

She is Ice Britta!

Sonia, this is the most beautiful What's On Tonight? of many months! As a twenty-five-year-old, I too am thrilled to see an old lady respected elder like Carolina in such close contention for a medal of any color! I will light two golden candles for Michelle.

No one turned into Shawn White at the end either!

I couldn't get past the clash of the German team's outfits. I know that was part of the point, but they could have been dressed for different social classes while still coordinating colors! That aside, I did appreciate his sweater vest.

She was amazing and wonderful and captured my heart more than any other Olympian, even though at this point I recall the heartbreak of her being twice-denied the gold by little imps with bad hair more than I actually remember her performances.

It felt so right in 2002! I may still have that full-page, mid-race newspaper photo that 13-year-old me tucked away for safe keeping.

In the days of Winter Olympics past, I suppose I was too busy making excuses for Ohno's soul patch. Now I just weep at his Subway commercials.

Is Bode Miller really a thing people are into? He just seems kind of weirdly haired and sad eyed.

The entire Bode Miller Spectacle of the Night coverage was uncomfortable and poorly handled, from their attempts at casting him as some sort of romantic with the kind of creepy I-just-met-you-and-this-craaazy-but-I'm-going-to-stalk-you-so-marry-me-in-five-months-baaaby, to the partaking-in-her-own-exploitation miking

I am going to genuinely miss them when the Olympics are over. Here's to hoping they become the most fabulous all-Beyonce ice dancing pair ever!

I think you mean "A SHARK JUST ATE YOUR SON! How did that make you feel?"
