Well, you got to see all the Golden Age films. Since Cars 2, the only Pixar movies that match up to that era are Coco and Inside Out, (some people add Toy Story 4 to that list, but nah) so check those out and you’re good.

I don’t expect everyone with their busy lives to track this type of stuff, but I have a pet peeve whenever someone mistakes a non-Pixar animated movie for Pixar. I get the confusion with the Planes movies, but I have heard people mistake stuff like Big Hero 6 and The Croods as the newest Pixar movie. I don’t say…

Of the non-sequel ones, I’d say Inside Out and Coco are worth your time.

This past Tuesday I saw 75% of my instagram feed participate in Blackout Tuesday by posting an all-black photo in solidarity with the BLM movement, and then, later that day, the other 25% telling them they were idiots for undermining the BLM movement and acting as corporate shills.

The depressing thing is that JKR’s views aren’t really outside the mainstream left in the UK/Europe. For all the many many many things wrong with the US, our left wing is generally cool with trans people. There’s not that kind of consensus over there.

Here’s the thing this season made me realize: I don’t care about Villanelle. I don’t care about her tragic upbringing and I don’t care about her occasional pangs of conscience.

I’m fine with this finale being a little quiet given than the previous two had EXPLOSIVE SHOCKING ENDINGS and you can’t do that every time without becoming predictable, or doing it for the sake of doing it. The Good Place also ended its third season in a subdued manner compared to the first two.

I just kept waiting for some sort of punchline to land. The show is usually more self aware than this and I thought there’d be a twist on the hoary old trope of discordant family vacation. Like, making Summer and Morty one-dimensionaly obsessed with drugs and vidogames, out of…

I am bummed I didn’t get a chance for a full review of that one. Easily in the top ten for this season, probably the top five but I’d need to rewatch a couple episodes first.
