It’s a legit complaint. Most people read reviews because they want to know whether they should go see a movie, and most of those people don’t want the movie spoiled. So a lot of people who want to read Evan’s take before seeing Downsizing are either going to have to skip the review or accept having it spoiled.

Jesus Christ, how hard is it to write a review without dropping major plot points. I just can’t understand the absolute compulsion reviewers these days have for dropping big twist without any spoiler warnings. Are you afraid another reviewer will spoil it for us before you?

I wonder how the ethics work in this situation. For the patient himself, his quality of life could potentially now have been made worse now that he’s conscious that he’s in a disabled state. He might also now be able to perceive pain and stress that he couldn’t before.
