She told the story in one of her books, which apparently I’m the only person who ever read because nobody quoted it after she wasn’t interested in going into detail about the allegations.

why would you need to do what when his other accusers gave interviews?
A lot of older comics may have similar (but maybe not quite as vile) skeletons in their closets from their own drunken early days.
There’s something I just love about Jen Kirkman.
Small victory, but I feel like older mainstream comedians may have forgiven him. But younger or more alt comedians and podcasters and writers still insult him. The kind of people who influence the next generation more.
Enough with this Louis C.K. stuff, the man has obviously done his penance and been forgiven by everyone he allegedly hurt, all of who have unbelievable stories anyway (notice how they’re all “women” so take whatever they say with a grain of salt).
I am disappointed in this site for continually accusing a man who has…
Pretty sure What We Do in the Shadows is on FXX too, but both that and Archer are also on Hulu right away so no loss there.
It’s not remotely surprising. Aside from Marc Maron, virtually every stand-up went radio silent when Louis C.K. admitted he’s an abuser, but they all of course had plenty to say about his right to return to the stage less than a year later.
i think that’s a byproduct of being a super successful comedian, too. if everything is a joke then everything is a joke. obviously doesn’t apply to every single one, but i can see how monetizing your opinions and dedicating your life to having one-way conversations in that way would completely warp your brain,…
Seinfeld has always made it clear that he doesn’t really give a shit about other people. Especially people he sees as ‘below’ him (such as someone’s who job it is to hold cue cards). The whole insincere “that’s a shame” reaction is mostly how he goes through is life. Someone getting yelled at by their boss for not…
Glad to hear noted non-asshole Jerry Seinfeld chime in.
Speaking as somebody who devoured the series repeatedly when young, 45 minutes of moping to 5 minutes of badass is, if anything, a generous adaptation.
The WGA reacted angrily to the announcement, saying: “Comedy Central forcing Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert back on the air will not give the viewers the quality shows they’ve come to expect.”
Bill Cosby: “But the drugs are the best part!”
You’re missing the part where you shouldn’t be friends with a rapist.
A failing of humanity writ large is overvaluing the personal/anecdotal evidence over mountains of evidence in the opposite direction. Unless you believe somebody was wrongly convicted, arguing for leniency on their behalf is more or less just saying “my experiences with that person weren’t where he raped anybody I…
In case anyone’s not keeping track of the “2020s decade of things that should go without saying but here we are having to say them anyway”:
Christina Ricci is awesome. I realize that she is not Wednesday Addams in real life, but it would be nice if she got revenge on her abuser Wednesday-style
“If I had a family member or close friend that was convicted of a crime, even a particularly disgusting one such as rape, it would be pretty hard to refuse a request to write about any redeeming values that might lighten the sentence. It would be akin to disowning them entirely.”
I don’t know if you’re a serial troll…
I don’t f*ck with instagram, but I was sexually assaulted by my sister’s husband the first time he visited our home. I was 15. I have just now spoken up after I won’t say how many many years. I don’t care what anyone thinks of me, but he has spent decades shit talking so many people that perhaps the ‘wheel’ will come…
