I don’t disagree, but I am always shocked at just how many people have difficulty showing up for work on time. Or sometimes at all. The old adage that “80% of success in life is just showing up” is surprisingly accurate because a lot of people can't seem to manage even that.

One thing about this: It was helpful to know that showing up for work on time is a feat worthy of mentioning in a rapist-but-nice-guy character reference letter.

I think it used to be considered established fact that great artists are necessarily tortured souls with a fuckton of character flaws. Whether it’s great art that exists in spite of the artist being a bad person, or great art that only exists because the artist is a bad person, the justification for their character is

It puzzles me how many people in showbiz support Roman Polanski since he was known for being a nightmare to work with on films like Rosemary’s Baby and Chinatown. Not that him being a good guy to being around would make what he did less horrific, but it would make it more understandable why people would support him.

She’s only supporting the strikes after so much pressure; Modine was trying to unseat her because he disagreed with the contracts her leadership had negotiated, the same contracts that are now being attacked in the strike!

Your glibness about sexual assault is the reason why men like Danny have been able to get away with it for so long.  You think sexual assault is ok as long as X meets Y.  Much like how Danny Masterson thought it was ok to sexually assault his victims because X met Y.

If you know you’re guilty, pleading not guilty IS dishonest.  Don’t waste taxpayer’s money by expecting the prosecution to prove what you already know is true.

Let's focus on all of the people he DIDN'T rape.

“But he’s never done drugs” is the weirdest defense of a rapist I’ve ever heard. Personally, I’d much rather be friends with somebody who does lots of drugs and has never raped anyone. But that’s just me.

Sure, he’s a rapist, but what matters is that he’s anti-drug!

Even if you’re right, they’re still doing what they can to prevent the women he raped from getting justice. Arguing for lighter sentencing for rape is fucking disgusting

That about sums it up for me as well. Especially if you’re a friend who is trying to let that rapist out to rape some more sooner than necessary.

they had 20 years of allegations, this was not a sudden thing for them

When my friend gets convicted of multiple counts of rape based on the testimony of multiple victims, that friendship ends.

Perhaps for you. If I found out a friend was a serial rapist? Nothing in the world would be easier than cutting myself off from them completely and being happy that such a piece of shit was behind bars. I remember having a conversation with my own brother many years ago and we laughingly talked about some story in the

...Gross.

Haaa at the very predictable AVclub scolds in the comments who are mad at too much sex in music (but somehow only when Black women do it). I knew yall’d be here, I could set my watch by you. To that I say: have you ever listened to music? Like, any music? Humans have been singing about sex for as long as we’ve been

Indeed. The show was always tongue in cheek for the most part. There was even a semi-main character (Pam) whose primary job at times seemed to be pointing out how ludicrous it was that two vampires were fighting over a fairy waitress.

Trust me, we weren’t taking it seriously then either. The show may have moved into a more overtly silly, campy tone, but it was always silly and campy.

This is mostly a good list, but Highlander 2 is a pretty glaring omission. I can't think of a worse sequel than that.
